Story Times

Toddler Time is held Every Tuesday at 10:30. This program combines stories, songs, crafts, games and activities for pre-school children and their parents or caregivers.  No need for reservations, just come prepared to sit on the floor with your child and have fun!

Hooks and Needles

A local hobby/craft club! Every Friday until 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. All knitters and crocheters are welcome. Beginners are welcome!

Starting after Memorial Day weekend and running through July 20th (except for the 4th of July week)

Mondays from 4:00- 5:00 PM-- Investigation Station -- Third graders and up are invited to participate in a hands-on activities, crafts, experiments and games.

 

Tuesdays from 10:30 – 11:00AM—Toddler Time—Infants to Preschoolers and their care givers are welcome to come read, dance, sing and do simple crafts with Miss Rene.

 

Thursdays from 3:00 – 4:00PM – Lego-Palooza – All ages are invited to build whatever they can imagine with the Library’s thousands of Lego bricks.

Painting Class with Jennifer Clements

The Elbert Theatre Foundation is excited to announce new painting classes coming to the Arts Center!  The super-talented Jennifer Clements will lead instructional paint classes once-a-month beginning in May!  Classes will last from 7-9pm and will be held in the Arts Center meeting room.  The class schedule is posted on the Elbert Theatre website at www.elberttheatre.org and on the Elberton Arts Center Facebook page.  Be sure to like the Facebook page to see what paintings will be offered each month.  The first class will take place on Mon. May 14th.  Each class is $25 per person and students will be provided with canvases, brushes and paints!  All you have to bring is an appetite for fun!  You must register prior to each class date by calling 706-283-1049 or by emailing tking@cityofelberton.net.  Join us for a paint party!  It’s an easy and fun way to bring out your creativity!

The Ark Encounter/Creation Museum Motor Coach Trip has been extended now that the 30 minimum passenger requirement has been met. Deadline has been extended until August 20, 2018.  Please contact Nancy Hill or any Pilot member if you are interested in this trip.

The Ark Encounter and Creation Museum Tour is September 10-13, 2018, leaving from Elberton, GA.  Cost is $475 per person.  Checks should be made payable to Nancy Hill.  If interested in travel insurance, it is $35 and check should be made payable to “Travel Insured International” .

Love, Loss and Little Ducks Auditions – July 16-17, 2018

The Elbert Theatre Foundation will be having auditions for a fun duo of shows to be performed on the Elberton Arts Center stage in September! Auditions for Love, Loss and What I Wore and A Little Something for the Ducks will be held Mon. July 16th and Tues. July 17th in the Elberton Arts Center Meeting Room located at 17 W. Church Street, Elberton, GA 30635.

The director is looking to cast 8 women and 1 man in these shows.  Those wishing to audition should be over the age of 30 yrs.

Love, Loss and What I Wore is a Reader’s Theatre show with a 5-woman cast to be performed Sept. 22nd & 23rd.

A Little Something for the Ducks is a One-Act performance featuring 1 man and 1 woman and will be playing Sept. 29th & 30th. 

Anyone planning to audition should drop in between 5:30PM and 7:30PM on either date and be prepared to read excerpts from the scripts for Director Victoria L. Young. Those auditioning should also be available during evening and weekend hours from the end of July through the end of September. No experience is necessary to audition!

Please note that the Elbert Theatre Foundation is a community theatre organization, and all acting roles granted are strictly on a volunteer basis – no paid roles are available.

If you’ve ever wanted to dip your toe into the theatrical stage – this is you’re your perfect opportunity to give it a try!

Love, Loss Show Synopsis:  A play of monologues and ensemble pieces about women, clothes and memory coving all the important subjects – mothers, prom dresses, mothers, buying bras, mothers, hating purses and why we only wear black.  Based on the bestselling book by Ilene Beckerman.

Little Ducks Show Synopsis:  A story of a zestful, youthful courtship.  She is 68 and he is 79.  They put their moves on each other in a minuet that is a joy to behold.

Water World at Library – July 20, 2018

Friday, July 20 @ 10:30AM--Water World returns! Join us as we close out our Summer Reading Program and splash around in the parking lot on a giant water slide, dunking booth and fire hoses provided by the Elberton Fire Department!
